Review: Louise Young Super Foundation Brush LY34
I’ve been a fan of Pixiwoo for a while now and I saw some of Louise Young’s brushes in their 12 Day Giveaway back in December. Once I saw those brushes, I fell in love!
I finally decided to buy the brushes a few weeks ago when I was going through a crazy shopping phase and they’re all pretty good but I got frequently requested to review the LY34. If you want me to review any other brushes, feel free to ask!

This brush is the weirdest but most unique brush I’ve ever seen. It’s not like a regular foundation brush since it has a dome shaped. I’m still going to use my Sigma F60, Bobbi Brown foundation brush, and Lancome’s #2 brush which is your traditional paddle foundation brush. However, such brushes can be a real hassle to use. They can apply streaky if you’re not focused and is also a pain to clean.

This brush has all the characteristics of the traditional foundation brush with one major difference: it’s shape. The dome is firm if pressed, yet soft if moved in circular motions making it the ideal brush for both application or blending. I’ve never found a brush that could be stiff, but also soft!
Look at the huge size difference!
I’ve heard some people complaining about the size but really, it’s not a big deal. It’s kinda similar to the Sephora Airbrush Foundation brush but the LY34 is much more rounder. Even though the size might be a little intimidating, it’s very easy to use!
Seriously, this brush is so versatile. I can just use this brush for my whole face. You can use it for liquid foundation, powder, blush, bronzer. It’s incredible! This brush replaces all my other foundation brushes!

The only thing I need to tell you guys is I think it’s better to use this for the more liquid-y foundations. I made a HUGE mistake using this with my MUFE HD foundation since it sucked up a lot of the product and I wasted a lot because of the brush. Using a regular paddle foundation brush is what I use for the thicker foundations.
Loves:
♥ SO VERSATILE!
♥ Very well made. I think the handle is made out of some kiln wood that’s supposedly eco-friendly? I’m not so sure♥ NO STREAKING AT ALL!
♥ Easy to use
♥ Cruelty free!
Not-so-loves:
- Kinda pricey? I’m not complaining about the price. It was like around $40 but this brush is well made and it should last for a long time. I think it’s better to have more higher end, good quality brushes than high end makeup.
Disclaimer: I bought this brush with my own money. I always give my honest opinion on all things I review. :)
